Medical providers at IndyCare are dedicated to helping you and your family feel better. Come to our health and wellness center for minor injuries and illnesses or routine physicals and other health services. We offer treatments for many services.

Paul Dunn, FNP

  • Experience

    Paul Dunn practices the full scope of family medicine from school-aged children to “seniors.” Mr. Dunn has over 35 years of experience in health care. He served as an emergency dept nurse at Duke in the 1980s followed by 24 years at the UNC Department of Family Medicine where he served as a clinical associate professor. This was followed by 8 years at UNC Family Medicine at Hillsborough and 3 years at Chapel Hill Primary Care.

    In the early 2000s he had the honor of working with educators of nurses and physicians in Yerevan, Armenia, as part of a USAID project. In the 1970s he served 6 years in the US Air Force as a medic.
    He keeps a “special place” in his heart for the health care of military veterans. He cherishes diversity of age, race and culture in his practice. In addition to English he speaks rudimentary Icelandic.

  • Education | Professional Career

    Mr. Dunn attended college at the State University of New York in Plattsburgh and obtained his master’s degree at UNC Chapel Hill. He is a past chair of the Governor’s Taskforce of Patterns of Diabetes Care in North Carolina. He has traveled throughout the state offering workshops on diabetes care and eye care. He is a past adjunct professor in the UNC Departments of Nursing and Pharmacy.

  • Personal Life

    All his patients get his best. He wants to keep his patients educated about preventing illnesses and comforted and informed when and if disease happens. His own experience with cancer and his family experience with death from diabetes have always informed his practice.

    He lives in Hillsborough with his beautiful wife and has a son and daughter in law working in the furniture industry and healthcare in Hickory NC. He admits he loves the South and is not returning to live in Massachusetts any time soon.

Nisha Kotecha, FNP

  • Professional Career

    Nisha is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner FNP-BC. She earned her nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin and her master’s degree from Duke University.

  • Experience

    Nisha started her nursing career at Duke University in the neurosurgery/neurology ICU/stepdown unit for six years prior to completing her MSN. She also assisted with nursing student preceptorship and clinical rotations. Nisha has experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner in family practice, urgent care, spine, pain, and geriatric care.

  • Personal Life

    Nisha spends time volunteering at free access clinics for underserved populations. Nisha has a strong desire to improve the lives and health of all the patients she sees.

    Nisha enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid runner and enjoys being outdoors.

Rebecca Hasmann, FNP

  • Professional Career

    Rebecca is a North Carolina native since a very young age and received both her BSN and MSN from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She started her nursing career in the surgical field and after becoming nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, she started working at NC Central University.

  • Experience

    Prior to working at IndyCare, Rebecca worked as a Primary Care Provider for over 20 years at Carrboro Family Medicine. She has practiced in family medicine most of her career and loves the challenges medicine can entail and the rewards of seeing patients throughout their lifespan.

  • Personal Life

    Rebecca enjoys traveling, reading, exercising, and doing volunteer work with local animal groups.
