COVID-19 Test - No Symptoms

What to expect

    Schedule a Curbside Health appointment online. 
    Complete your online registration.
    Park inside of the Curbside Care Cove in front of our building at the time of your appointment.
    Our staff will come out to your vehicle and start your visit which will include a brief medical consultation and performing the COVID-19 PCR test.
    Your results will be provided online through our patient portal within approximately 2 days.
    There is zero patient cost for medically necessary testing for most insurance plans. If you don’t have insurance we can apply to a program for uninsured that will cover the costs for you. 

COVID-19 Testing FAQ’s

IndyCare is an official COVID-19 testing site listed with the North Carolina Department of Health. The following are frequently asked questions about our testing services.

  • What is the turnaround time for test results?

    The COVID rapid test results are available within 15 minutes. The PCR diagnostic test results are usually available within 2 days. The laboratory antibody test results are usually available within 24hrs. We will notify you of your test results and they will also be available in your patient portal.

  • Does insurance cover the COVID-19 testing?

    All major insurance plans cover the cost of medically necessary COVID-19 visits and testing with zero copay or deductible. To determine if your test is medically necessary, check the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services guidelines on ‘Who should get tested’ at:

  • How much does the test cost if I don’t have insurance?

    The cost for the video visit with our medical provider and the test together is $179.
    The cost for travel testing alone is $139. 

  • Do I need to have a visit first to get tested? 

    Yes, our policy is that an IndyCare medical provider must evaluate you as a patient, document the reason for your testing and possible medical necessity, determine the best test for your situation, and explain how to interpret the results. Testing for travel or other non-medically necessary reasons does not require a visit.

  • Do you provide testing for travel?

    Yes we provide PCR diagnostic testing for travel. Travel testing is not covered by insurance and you do not need a visit first. Follow this link to schedule a travel test. The cost is $139 for the PCR diagnostic test. For tests performed Monday through Thursday the turnaround time is 1 day with results sent to you directly from the lab the following evening. Friday and Saturday travel tests will take 2 days for results. 

  • Is the test FDA approved?

    The COVID-19 tests that we provide have received an Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA.

  • I’ve been exposed to someone positive for COVID-19. Should I get tested?

    If you have come in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, it is recommended that you get tested. For best results, you should wait 5 days from the time you were exposed before getting tested.

  • How do I get my Test Results? 

    We will contact you once your results are available either by text or phone call. Your results will also be available in the IndyCare Patient Portal which is accessible here. You can also get your results directly from the lab by signing up for their patient portal. If you are getting tested for Travel your results will be sent to directly from the lab by text or email and will not be available in the IndyCare patient portal.
